This program, a part of Columbia World Projects and Columbia Global offers a nine month transformative experience where rising leaders from around the globe can engage in pursuits acquire skills and gain firsthand experience.

Scholarship Details:
The Obama Foundation is committed to providing leadership development through a rounded curriculum that includes training sessions networking opportunities and tailored support throughout the academic year. The Scholars have the opportunity to learn from leaders, in fields and tap into the vast knowledge pool of participants in the Obama Foundation program. This helps them plan how they can use their newfound skills, networks and knowledge after completing the program.
Eligibility Criteria for the Obama Foundation Scholars Program, at Columbia University;
The program aims to select aspiring leaders from both the United States and around the globe who fulfill these requirements;
1. These individuals are emerging leaders who have made contributions in their fields and are currently experiencing a pivotal moment, in their careers.
2. They have a track record of engaging in service and leadership within their communities, regions or countries. Moreover they have shown a dedication to returning to these communities after completing the program so that they can utilize their enhanced training, skills and connections for the long term betterment of these communities.
3. Fluency in English is required. Both verbally and in written form.
4. These individuals possess the ability and desire to shape a future for their community.
5. They have demonstrated a commitment, to inclusivity community focused mindset, hopefulness, courage, creativity, strategic thinking, accountability, integrity and resilience.

Regarding the scholarship duration and reward;
1. The scholarship program will last for one year.
2. The scholarship offers benefits, to recipients;
- A monthly stipend to assist with living expenses while in New York City.
- A furnished studio apartment that is conveniently located within walking distance of Columbia University.
- Full coverage of tuition and fees for up to four courses at Columbia University.
- Basic medical, dental and life insurance for the duration of the program.
