Falak Sufi, born in Pakistan in 1983 was known for her nature and a strong passion to make an impact, on the world. She possessed a vibrant mind, which she showcased through her works. After graduating with honors in science from the National University of Singapore Falak delved into various subjects such as South Asian womens issues, gender dynamics, the history of South Asia and the significance of humanities. Her diverse range of interests extended beyond these topics well.
Tragically Falaks life was cut short in 2008 when she passed away in New York City. At that time she was great. Beloved as a graduate student at the Kevorkian Center, within the New York Universitys Near Eastern Studies program. To commemorate her memory and legacy the Falak Sufi scholarship was established to support deserving students.
The Falak Sufi Scholarship Program, based in New York provides an opportunity, for students hailing from Asian countries with a predominantly Islamic population. This program enables students to pursue a Masters Degree, at NYU for a duration of one year.
