It is our expectation that one-third of our scholars will come from the United States while the remaining two-thirds will come from other countries. Scholarship Coverage
- A travel allowance is provided to cover the cost of an economy class plane ticket, for one trip to and from Stanford University.
- A stipend is also provided to cover living expenses and academic needs including accommodation, meals, books, school supplies, transportation within the area and reasonable personal expenses.
- Additionally a fellowship is awarded specifically for covering the cost of tuition (based on the enrollment level set by the department) and associated fees.
- It's important to note that the Knight Hennessy Scholars program typically does not cover expenses that are already paid for by your home department at Stanford University such, as subscriptions or laboratory equipment.

- You must have received your bachelors degree in 2015. Later if you plan to enroll in 2022. You can apply within four years. Enroll within five years after earning your degree.

- In order to become a Knight Hennessy Scholar you must not apply for the program. Also apply separately and get accepted into a full time graduate degree program at Stanford University. This includes programs such, as DMA, JD, MA, MBA MD MFA MPP MS or PhD programs. There are no quotas based on discipline or program when selecting scholars. However preference will be given to those who plan on studying at Stanford for two years.
How to Apply for Stanford University Scholarships?
- Please submit a self reported transcript from each college or graduate school you attended for at one academic year. If you don't have a transcript you can download the self reported transcript template. Make sure your transcript includes information, about the degree you received and the date of conferral. We don't require transcripts for study abroad experiences if those credits are already included on your transcript.
- Include a resume that highlights your professional background as well as your achievements. Keep in mind that we recommend one page per decade of experience after completing school.

- There is an essay component where you may submit a total of up to 1,750 words for both essays combined;
- Essay 1; Reflect on how various influences, in your life have shaped who you are today.
- Essay 2; Describe how you plan to pursue your lifes calling and explain how receiving a Stanford education and participating in the Knight Hennessy Scholars program will contribute to achieving this goal.
- Please provide us with eight facts, about yourself. Additionally please list three goals or objectives that you are actively pursuing (please note that being admitted to Stanford or becoming a Knight Hennessy Scholar cannot be counted as one of these goals).
- For the video portion, your recording should not exceed two minutes in length. However if you only need 30 seconds to answer that is perfectly acceptable. You are not obliged to speak for the duration.
- Lastly there will be an in person assessment, as part of the process.
- To complete your application, for the Knight Hennessy Scholars program please ensure that all required materials are submitted online in English. We kindly request that you refrain from sending any application materials via email or postal mail.
