Scholarship Requirements;
To be considered for the University of Edinburgh MasterCard On Campus Scholarships you need to fulfill the criteria;
1. Academic qualification; Applicants must meet the requirements for admission to a degree program at the University of Edinburgh. Generally this would involve having achieved an equivalent of a UK Second Class (Upper) Bachelors (Hons) degree or higher. You can find information about postgraduate entry requirements to your country on their website; Postgraduate Entry Requirements.
2. Overcoming barriers; Applicants should have faced obstacles, in accessing education whether social, financial, personal, practical or health related.
3. Graduation status; Applicants must have completed their studies by September 2023. Possess a degree certificate and official final transcript to upload along with their application before December 7th.
4. Residency and citizenship; Applicants must be residents and citizens of. Hold refugee status in a Sub African country.
5. Applicants should have encountered obstacles when pursuing education and at the beginning of their journey.
6. Applicants need to show a history of taking on leadership roles and actively contributing to their community.
7. Applicants should demonstrate either experience or a strong desire to make a difference, in addressing the challenges posed by climate change.
8. Applicants must be no older than 35 years, as of September 1 2024.
9. To be eligible, for the Mastercard Foundation Scholarship applicants should not have already obtained a postgraduate degree. Should not be currently enrolled or planning to enroll at another university.
10. If you are applying for the on campus Masters program it's important that you have not previously completed a postgraduate degree and are not currently enrolled or planning to enroll at another university while benefiting from the Mastercard Foundation Scholarship.
11. We highly encourage applications from scholars, scholars who come from refugee or displaced backgrounds well and scholars, with disabilities.
Scholarship Reward;
1. The scholarship covers the cost of approved tuition, accommodation, travel expenses, a living stipend and study materials.
2. Along, with the scholarship there is a climate leadership program designed to inspire and support scholars in driving change in their communities and countries.
3. Scholars with disabilities can receive support tailored to their needs after undergoing an assessment.
Application Timeline for 2023/24;
1. By December 2023 (5pm UK time) applicants must complete registration on the scholarship application site. Fulfill the eligibility assessment and declaration requirements.
2. Starting from February 2024; Shortlisting for on campus (ODL) interviews will. Both successful and unsuccessful applicants will be notified accordingly.
3. On campus interviews will take place in mid to February 2024.
4. By mid March; The outcomes of on campus interviews will be announced.
5. From March to August 2024; Support will be provided throughout the admission and immigration processes.
6. September 2024; The academic program is scheduled to begin.

To be eligible for this scholarship you must meet the requirements for admission, at the University of Edinburgh. It is essential that applicants submit their scholarship application before applying to the university.
