Required Documents; The following documents are required to complete the application for admission. Please submit all materials through the online application portal.
1. Online Application; Complete the Berea College Application for Admission for International Students online. There is no application fee.
2. Essay; Your essay should be between 2 and 5 pages, in length. Please note that this essay may be used to evaluate your course placement so it's important that you write it independently without any assistance or editing.
Your essay should address the following points:
- Provide a summary of your background and life experiences.
- Share your plans after finishing your education.
- Explain the reasons, behind your desire to either return or not return to your home country.
- Describe the ways in which you have made an impact on your community.
Remember, including details, in your essay will greatly benefit the evaluation process for admission.
You can upload the essay to your application portal once you have submitted the application.
3. Please provide secondary school records, including leaving exam results A Level results, O Level results National Higher Diploma results or West African Examination results. Ensure that these academic records demonstrate your completion of all secondary school requirements, in your home country. It is important to have these records translated into English and certified copies by school officials.
4. It is preferable for a teacher to submit a recommendation on your behalf using the form provided via the application portal. Alternatively you can download the form here. Upload the completed version to your online application portal. We also accept written recommendations in English that are not completed using our form.
5. A school administrator, employer, religious leader or another individual who can provide insights, into your financial resources regarding education should complete the Financial Resource Recommendation Form. However please note that close relatives are not eligible to complete this form. The Financial Resource Recommendation Form should be written in English.
6. Official Test Scores; For applicants it is mandatory to submit a test report from one of the following exams; IELTS, Duolingo, TOEFL, SAT or ACT. This requirement applies to students, from English speaking countries. As part of your application you need to provide a copy of your test report of whether you have already requested an official copy to be sent directly to Berea from the testing center. International applicants are not permitted to apply without submitting test scores.

7. International Financial Questionnaire; All applicants must. Submit the questionnaire through their application portal. The Berea College form is the form for this purpose; we will not accept the CSS Profile or ISFSAA, as substitutes.
