The B.A. Krukoff Fellowship for the year 2024 2025 offers funded scholarships to international students at Queen Mary University. This prestigious scholarship covers all tuition fees. Provides support of up to £21,000 for living expenses and travel costs.


The Bentham Moxon Trusts B.A. Krukoff Fund sponsors this bursary to assist students who wish to focus their MSc research project on botany. RBG Kew will be responsible for administering the bursary.

Scholarship Benefits;


The B.A. Krukoff Fellowship in Systematics offers the following benefits to its recipients;


  • The total value of the student bursary can reach up to £21,000.
  • Out of this amount £18,000 is allocated as a stipend which covers accommodation expenses, subsistence costs, daily travel allowances well and expenses related to an exciting field trip, to Madagascar.
  • For students who are not located in London, a budget of, up to £3,000 is allocated to cover expenses such as visa application fees, the UK Healthcare surcharge fee and transportation to and from their hometown or country at the start and end of the course. 
  • Additionally the bursary value will include coverage, for the tuition fees.


Eligibility Requirements, for the B.A. Krukoff Fellowship in Systematics


Applicants must meet the following criteria to be considered for the B.A. Krukoff Fellowship;

1. Language Requirement; Proficiency in English is mandatory.

2. Eligible Countries; All countries worldwide are eligible.

3. Admission Offer; Applicants must have received an offer of admission to the Kew/QMUL Plant and Fungal Taxonomy Diversity and Conservation MSc program for the years 2024 to 25. Conditional offers will also be considered. If awarded the fellowship all conditions of the offer must be fulfilled by August 31 2023.

4. Demonstrated Experience; Candidates should demonstrate their experience in Tropical African botany.

5. Future Impact; Applicants need to explain how they plan to continue working and making an impact on Tropical African Botany* after completing the course.

The recipient of this fellowship should;

1. Be eligible to study in the United Kingdom (UK). All applicants are advised to review UK visa requirements and application processes in advance of starting the course in September 2024 ensuring compliance, with any requirements.

2. Not currently holding any bursaries or grants for pursuing an MSc during the year 2024 25.
